Multi-Engine Rating

Expand Your Capabilities in Multi-Engine Aircraft

Develop the skills required to operate multi-engine aircraft with confidence, precision, and real-world readiness.

Multi-engine training is a critical step for pilots pursuing advanced certifications and professional aviation opportunities. It introduces new levels of complexity, including engine-out procedures, performance management, and increased workload in the cockpit.

At Provectus Aviation, multi-engine training is one of our core specialties. Our programs are designed to be efficient, structured, and focused—helping you build the skills and experience you need without unnecessary delays.

Typical Flight Time:

~10–15 hours (varies by experience)

Ground Training:

Varies based on background and preparation

Training Pace:

Accelerated or flexible scheduling available

Location:

Gillespie Field (KSEE), San Diego

What You’ll Learn

Multi-engine training focuses on managing increased complexity and developing precision under higher workload conditions:

  • Engine-Out Procedures
Learn to safely manage and respond to engine failures
  • Aircraft Performance & Systems
Understand multi-engine aerodynamics, systems, and limitations
  • Advanced Aircraft Control
Develop precision and consistency in more complex aircraft
  • Workload Management
Build the ability to operate efficiently in a more demanding environment

FAA Minimum Requirements

Unlike primary certifications, there is no set minimum number of hours required by the FAA for a Multi-Engine rating. Instead, pilots must:

  • Hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate
  • Receive training and endorsements from an instructor
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multi-engine operations
  • Pass the FAA Practical Test (checkride)

Note from Provectus: Provectus offers both accelerated programs and flexible scheduling, allowing you to complete training in as little as a few days or spread it out over time.
