What Is SkillBridge?

The DoD SkillBridge program allows active-duty service members to gain valuable civilian work experience during their final 180 days of service.

Through approved industry training, apprenticeships, or internship-style programs, SkillBridge connects transitioning service members with real-world career opportunities while they are still on active duty.

Participants continue to receive their military pay and benefits, while gaining hands-on experience in their chosen field.

To participate in SkillBridge:

  • You must be within 180 days of separation from active duty
  • Participation must be approved by your chain of command
  • You will train full-time with an approved industry partner like Provectus
